Ruth Duck is professor of worship at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, Illinois; she has been teaching at the seminary since 1989.  Ordained in United Church of Christ, she has served local churches in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Massachusetts.   Duck has edited three books of worship resources, Bread for the Journey, Flames of the Spirit and, with Maren Tirabassi, Touch Holiness: Resources for Worship, published by The Pilgrim Press in 1990 and 1991 respectively.  Her hymns appear in many hymnals and supplements.  Her most recent books are Praising God: The Trinity in Christian Worship (with Patricia Wilson-Kastner, Westminster John Knox, 1999) and Welcome God’s Tomorrow (a new collection of her hymn texts, G.I.A Publications, 2005).
